Byron Pure Tallow was born from a deeply personal experience, just two days after I became a mother. As I navigated the early challenges of breastfeeding, I found myself struggling with cracked, painful nipples. It was crucial for me to find something 100% natural with the least amount of ingredients. My mum, my biggest support during those raw newborn days, did some research to help find the safest, most healing, and moisture-rich product for both me and my baby. That’s when we discovered tallow.
We found some at our local markets, and within days of using it, my nipples healed. It made breastfeeding so much more comfortable, allowing me to focus on bonding with my baby. I was amazed at how effective it was and soon started using it for everything—from nourishing baby massages and treating nappy rash to moisturizing my own skin. I’ve always struggled with oily skin, and tallow turned out to be the perfect solution, leaving my face soft without being too heavy.
After a few months of enjoying the benefits, I decided to try making my own tallow balm. I sourced beef tallow from our local organic butcher, bought some jojoba oil, and borrowed my mum’s essential oils to create a batch at home. I whipped it all together, poured it into a jar, and was surprised by how well it turned out. I shared it with friends who loved it and encouraged me to take it further.
